Covid 19 Dental Phase 4

From 1st November the Scottish Government have announced that a full range of dental treatment will once more be available on the NHS.

At Grahams Road Dental Surgery the safety and well-being of our patients must remain front and centre. With this in mind although a full range of treatment is available on the NHS it is far from “business as usual”.

In order to maintain a “Covid secure environment” the number of patient in our waiting rooms and communal areas must be strictly controlled.  To ensure that our patients are treated safely and in line with new guidelines – appointment times will be longer and the time between appointments longer to allow for additional cleaning and infection control measures.

This means that the capacity to see patients is still significantly reduced, about 20% of pre covid levels.

Priority needs to be given to patients who require emergency care, the vulnerable and those who have been waiting on treatment since before March.

The Scottish Government has instructed all NHS dentists in Scotland to work to these new conditions and there is currently no date for a return to the previous model. Patience is needed at this stage to allow the right treatment to be planned for each patient.

If you have a dental issue and need to see your dentist please do not hesitate to contact the surgery by telephone.

  • Attendance at the surgery will strictly be by appointment only.
  • If you have a dental emergency please call the practice on 01324 622 392
